Pre-assembled & Unitized Systems

Making things easier to use might seem like a simple idea, but in the world of custom skylights that’s often a difficult thing to do. The Major Industries team works hard to improve and enhance our system designs and manufacturing procedures, and have come up with some great ways to save you installation time and money.

Pre-assembled Systems

We realize that finding good labor is hard, and that your time on-site is precious (and costly). That’s why Major offers pre-assembled options for some select smaller sized skylights and wall systems, allowing them to be shipped to your site ready to install – saving space and greatly reducing the amount of time required on a typical job. From small single slope skylights that can be dropped onto a curb ready for final installation, to smaller custom pyramid skylights that can be lifted into place, to wall panels that can be easily installed from inside the building, we’ll work with you to find the right solution for your installation challenges. (*If you’re not sure if your system would be right for pre-assembly, contact our sales team.)

For larger skylights, or systems that have complex components, we can also provide partial pre-assembly of some sections so that you can focus on the detail work and weather-tightness without trying to assemble complex designs in inclement conditions. One example might be a ridge skylight that has complex end wall connections – we can pre-assemble the end walls so that when it comes time for the install, you’ve saved time and $$. Another example would be a smaller custom pyramid skylight that has complex connections, where we can pre-assemble the skylight framing so to make installation a little easier.

Unitized Systems

If you’re looking for a way to incorporate a mixed glazed wall system, or perhaps a translucent panel wall system with integrated louvers or insulated metal panels (or all of the above!), we can design and build unitized systems that come pre-assembled and ready to install into your existing opening. Not only does it save on installation time, but you can be assured that you’ll receive a fully integrated and precisely constructed unit that doesn’t look “pieced together”. And we’ll also work with you to provide the proper lifting hooks or other means to ease installation.

If your next project calls for more than just a “typical” skylight or wall system, contact our sales team to find out more about this great custom daylighting option. And if we don’t already have a solution, we’ll work with you to create a custom design that fits your project’s demands.
