Major’s translucent panel systems can be configured with a wide range of insulation options in a variety of densities, making them a great choice for any type of climate. This allows architects to customize the performance of their skylight or wall systems to meet the unique needs of each individual project by giving them control over solar heat gain and light transmission levels.
While insulation is generally thought of as helping to enhance u-factor performance in cold climates, it can also be beneficial in warmer regions where excessive heat and sunlight can drastically increase cooling costs. In severely cold climates, our highest density insulation, IMG 125, is the optimal choice, providing superior insulative values while still allowing for beneficial light transmission.
Major also offers Spectra-Grid™ colored insulation, allowing designers to create a unique custom look that can tie the daylighting system to school colors or corporate logos and can even provide a cost-effective, energy-efficient alternative to stained glass.
