National Corporate Architect
The National Corporate Architect will assume the lead role in design consulting, project development, project follow-up and closing new projects to ensure strong sales growth. The vast majority of your time will be spent working directly with Architects, Owners Representatives, General Contractors and other channel partners, and directing significant e-marketing or telemarketing toward customers and prospects as necessary. Your “territory” will effectively be nationwide (as needed) but the scope of geographic project activity and travel will be determined by the Director of Sales per the needs of the company.
The National Corporate Architect will need to stay current on all things related to daylighting, as well as the architecture field in general, and keep the Sales and Marketing departments, as well as other team members, up to date when new and relevant industry information is it becomes available. You will also assist the Sales and Marketing departments via monitoring of Major’s Architectural Consulting web page, and assisting with content creation as needed for related promotional projects.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Hunting for new project opportunities.
- Quote and project follow-up.
- Closing orders and acquiring purchase orders.
- Architectural interaction and promotion as needed.
- Developing a greater depth of specification penetration in the market.
- Train and educate Major team members on specification design, daylighting design, codes and standards and other various subjects.
- Public speaking at industry events to promote daylighting and Major’s system solutions at events such as: training events, continuing education sessions, table top display programs, CSI, AIA and DBIA or GC events in regional and national venues, and conducting webinars via Zoom or similar means.
Travel is required from time to time but training and meetings should be performed as often as possible through electronic webinar means such as Zoom, Google Hangouts or other approved software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An Associate degree in architectural design is desired. Additional training, seminars or experience in a manufacturing environment are decided pluses. Lack of a college degree will not be a deterrent if the individual has relevant business experience and a track record of previous success.
