Recycled Content

General Description

Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10%/20% (based on cost for one to two points) of the total value of the materials in the project.

Major Industries' Wisconsin based manufacturing facility is committed to a disciplined program of recycling for all of our materials including aluminum, steel, wood pallets, corrugated packaging, and paper. All scrap materials are sorted and recycled as part of our daily clean up in the plant. As a result of this effort and selective purchasing of materials from responsible vendors, our Guardian 275® Translucent Panel Systems and Auburn® skylights contain both post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content (percentages vary depending on the system and specific structural requirements). All Major Industries shipping materials can also be collected daily on the jobsite for recycling. Major Industries' skylight and curtainwall solutions may help you obtain MR Credit 4.
