Direct Learning Opportunities

For the past three decades, Major Industries had strived to provide top quality custom daylighting solutions. Major Industries currently offers an AIA registered Continuing Education course on daylighting titled "Daylighting Using Skylights and Curtainwall" (can also be used to meet Sustainable Design and HSW requirements). The program features information on the health benefits of daylighting, the benefits of natural light on building occupants, a basic overview of different types of daylighting and glazing materials, an overview of the sustainable design possibilities daylighting provides, and a look at creative design opportunities when using skylights and curtainwall.

Online Learning Opportunities

Looking for AIA or USGBC Continuing Education credits online? Major now offers two online daylighting education options!

The first program, approved for AIA-CES credit, can be found at Hanley Wood University, and contains information about daylighting, including the health benefits of natural light, tips on choosing the right glazing, and creative design opportunities. The program also meets AIA Sustainable Design and Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) requirements.

Major also has a new program available online through AEC Daily, which is AIA and USGBC approved, and also meets AIA Sustainable Design and HSW requirements.
